Jeweller Alejandra Whittier

Alejandra Garcia Whittier Alejandra Whittier

A Tehachapi resident now for over four years – with husband Adam and cats Nairobi and McKinley – Alejandra was born, raised and educated in Puebla, Mexico, earning a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree from the University of Monterrey in 2003.

Along the way, her interest in design prompted her to teach herself jewelry design, often incorporating the use of metals and natural stones.

The idea of Stone Disegno started in 2005 while she was working abroad in Quito, Ecuador.

“I have always wanted to design jewelry that was unique and different. It was not until I moved to Tehachapi, California in 2008 that I start designing and fabricating the jewelry I always wanted to create. With a magnificent roll model (thanks Klew!!) in the jewelry area, I have grown as a designer and found my own style and passion.”

In 2010, Stone Disegno by Alejandra was created and still growing.

Fans of Alejandra’s work will tell you she has far exceeded her desires by creating pieces of art that few other jewelry designers can match. Her work can be seen regularly at CrossRoads Gallery, The Lost Box, and Tehachapi Museum, and is often featured at Bear Valley Springs art shows, Farmers Market and other local fairs and shows.
