Tina Dilley - A Personal Biography

Tina “Dilley” Magie who holds a bachelors degree in Fine Arts has devoted years of study, personal growth, and practice to develop a signature style that is distinctly her own. Her most recent body of work is unique and compelling that conveys a sense of intelligence and soul, especially around the eyes. These portraits of animals and humans are rendered in a shimmering mosaic of paint that really requires a personal viewing to truly appreciate. Tina explains that the medley of colors and shapes in her work is the result  of incorporating the serendipitous effects of the medium. She further explains:

"My approach to painting is much like my approach to life. I start with a plan or objective and begin the process. When the painting presents problems or accidental success, I try to accommodate these haphazard occurrences with a flexible attitude and an experimental hand that allows these little spontaneous treasures to mature into a finish piece of art. For me it’s all about the process of creating. So, I love it when the painting moves me into a direction that I had not originally intended and presents wonderful gifts of discoveries that makes the painting interesting. Regardless if it’s living life or creating art, I believe too many of us focus on the end results instead of playing, learning, and stretching our abilities during the journey of the process which in my opinion is where the true success is accomplished."
